Overview
This senior leadership role involves directing Microsoft's growth initiatives within Australia's thriving Mining and Natural Resources sectors. As Sales Director in the Enterprise Commercial business, you will define strategic priorities and drive execution across your portfolio, with a focus on sustainable growth and enabling customers to leverage cloud and AI technologies.
Role Details
You will operate as a sales-oriented leader possessing robust technical knowledge, capable of engaging both executive business leaders and technology stakeholders effectively. As a critical member of the ANZ Enterprise Commercial leadership team, reporting directly to the EC Lead, you will lead teams of Account Executives and Account Technology Strategists. Collaboration with Microsoft's full commercial and technical teams, including solution experts and partners, will be essential to deliver impactful customer outcomes.
This position emphasizes not only achieving business results but also fostering lasting partnerships, influencing industry evolution, and cultivating a high-performance team culture that supports career growth.
The role is based either in Perth or Brisbane.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and execute a clear growth strategy aligned with industry needs and market opportunities for your portfolio.
- Own revenue targets and enforce disciplined sales processes and accountability within your team.
- Utilize strong technical expertise to facilitate impactful dialogues with customers.
- Manage complex deal orchestration, including long-term and multi-solution engagements.
- Lead, mentor, and develop your team to enhance skills and career progression.
- Establish trusted relationships with senior executives, positioning Microsoft as a strategic partner in business transformation.
- Serve as the ANZ Mining and Natural Resources industry leader, coordinating with regional and global teams.
- Create account strategies that promote AI and cloud technology adoption aligned with customer priorities.
- Leverage co-sell initiatives by collaborating with partner networks.
- Maintain rigorous business management through forecasting, pipeline quality, and consistent execution.
- Align Microsoft’s capabilities with customer needs to deliver measurable business value.
- Collaborate and share insights across the broader EC leadership team.
Qualifications and Experience
- Extensive background leading enterprise sales teams, including direct leadership of people.
- Proven experience managing large-scale enterprise transformation projects.
- Strong history of consistently meeting or exceeding revenue goals.
- Demonstrated ability to grow business within complex accounts involving multiple stakeholders.
- Exceptional communication skills, capable of engaging C-suite executives as a trusted advisor.
- Strong influence and collaboration skills across business and technical functions.
- Experience managing multi-solution sales involving technical, commercial, and partner teams.
- Industry experience within mining and natural resources is highly valued.
