Job description

About the Company

Our client stands as a prominent global distributor and solution provider, specializing in technical services tailored for data centres and critical infrastructure sectors. They offer comprehensive solutions across the entire project lifecycle, from design to deployment, maintaining an established footprint internationally and growing strongly within the European data centre market.

Role Overview

This senior sales leadership role centers on managing and expanding key hyperscale data centre clients across the EMEA region. The Sales Director will collaborate closely with both regional and global teams to shape account strategies, enhance revenue, and deepen customer relations. A critical aspect of the role involves early-stage engagement in the data centre project cycle, interacting with customers, consultants, contractors, partners, and internal stakeholders to uncover opportunities and position the company's technical offerings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Formulate and implement strategic plans aimed at critical hyperscale accounts.
  • Establish and nurture senior relationships within major data centre customers.
  • Drive growth, profitability, and revenue across assigned accounts.
  • Identify project opportunities early in the data centre lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with various external and internal parties including consultants, contractors, and partners towards opportunity development.
  • Promote the company’s technical products and services on significant projects.
  • Prepare proposals, presentations, account plans, and commercial bids.
  • Work in alignment with regional and global sales teams to execute account strategies effectively.
  • Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with suppliers and business collaborators.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and evolving customer needs.
  • Forecast sales performance and report findings to senior management.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate possesses over seven years of sales experience in a pertinent technical sector, including between three to five years in leadership of sales teams, programs, or managing strategic accounts. Expertise specifically within the data centre industry, especially hyperscale operations and surrounding ecosystems, is essential. A technical, engineering, or business degree is preferred but not mandatory.

Key personal attributes include strong strategic sales leadership, credibility with senior stakeholders, adeptness in managing complex, high-value accounts, and a commercial mindset complemented by negotiation skills. The role demands the ability to craft sophisticated sales strategies, collaborate internationally, analyze market dynamics, and confidently communicate with executives. Leadership capabilities enabling influence across internal teams and external partners are essential.

Compensation and Location

  • Base salary ranging from €90,000 to €115,000 per annum.
  • Performance-driven bonus structure.
  • Standard company benefits.

The position is based in Ireland or the UK with a preference for proximity to major data centre hubs. It requires frequent travel throughout the EMEA region, estimated between 25% to 50% of the time.
