Job description

About the Opportunity

Join QA Ltd, the leading UK provider of technology training and apprenticeships, dedicated to helping organisations build future-ready AI, technology, digital and human capabilities. With over 4,000 organisations and more than one million learners supported in the last three years, QA works with top companies globally to address critical skills gaps.

Role Overview

As a Sales Development Representative (SDR), your primary goal is to generate new business by identifying and engaging organisations that can benefit from QA's apprenticeship programmes. Your role involves proactive outreach to decision-makers across SMEs, enterprises, public sector and government bodies through phone, email, LinkedIn, and networking, converting cold leads into qualified meetings and customers.

This position is not account management; it focuses solely on new customer acquisition with a target-driven, B2B sales approach. You will represent apprenticeship solutions aimed at talent development and workforce sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify target companies, key contacts, and potential opportunities.
  • Initiate conversations through various outbound channels including phone, email, and LinkedIn.
  • Build rapport with prospects and assess their apprenticeship and workforce training needs.
  • Qualify leads and advance them into meaningful sales meetings.
  • Create tailored outreach strategies to engage potential customers effectively.
  • Maintain and manage your sales pipeline using CRM tools, ensuring steady opportunity progression.
  • Leverage LinkedIn Sales Navigator and market intelligence to enhance prospecting efforts.
  • Collaborate internally to support proposal development, handovers, and successful onboarding of new clients.

Desired Qualities and Traits

  • Target-oriented with a strong drive for achievement.
  • Comfortable sourcing opportunities from scratch and cold calling.
  • Good communication skills via phone, email, and LinkedIn.
  • Resilient and able to handle rejection positively.
  • Curious with a proactive approach to asking the right questions.
  • Self-motivated, positive mindset and well-organised with follow-up management.
  • Ability to quickly learn new sales tools and systems.
  • Coachability and eagerness to grow professionally in sales.

Who Can Succeed

You don’t need extensive sales experience; backgrounds in sales, recruitment, retail, hospitality or customer service where communication and relationship building are key are welcomed. Your mindset and willingness to create and seize opportunities matter most.

Development and Growth

  • Access to structured sales training and continuous coaching.
  • Support from seasoned sales leaders and industry insights.
  • Opportunities to study QA-authored technology and business courses.
  • Dedicated days for development and learning.
  • Training covering apprenticeships, workforce development, and broader QA solutions.
  • Pathways for commercial career advancement within QA's sales organisation.

Benefits and Wellbeing

  • 27 days of annual leave plus bank holidays, inclusive of 4 days during festive closure.
  • Option to buy additional holiday days.
  • Healthcare provisions including a Medicash plan, Wellhub access, Cycle to Work scheme, and corporate-rate private medical insurance.
  • Employee assistance programme and discount portal.
  • Three dedicated development days annually.
  • Two charity days per year encouraging community involvement.
  • Company pension scheme.
  • Early finish on Fridays at 4pm to promote work-life balance.

Inclusion and Company Culture

QA prides itself on fostering an inclusive environment that welcomes all candidates irrespective of gender, ethnicity, age, beliefs, sexual orientation, disability or caring responsibilities. As a Disability Confident Employer, QA ensures that applicants with disabilities meeting the criteria proceed through the recruitment process and offers reasonable adjustments when required.

Our Mission

QA is committed to imparting vital AI, technology, digital, and human skills that drive organisational success amidst rapid change. Through custom learning pathways combining apprenticeships, instructor-led training, self-paced and blended learning, QA equips organisations and learners with tools to develop and apply skills effectively at scale.
