Job description
About Heidi
Heidi is pioneering the future of healthcare by delivering the world's most advanced AI Care Partner for clinicians. Our platform manages the administrative workload from over 175 million patient visits and supports 67 million clinical hours. Currently, we facilitate 2.8 million patient sessions every week spanning across more than 190 countries, offering service in 110 languages and across 200 specialties. Faced with overstressed healthcare systems where clinicians spend excessive time on paperwork at the expense of patient care, Heidi's mission is to double global care capacity and restore the essential human connection in medicine.
Having achieved product-market fit with an acclaimed freemium medical scribe preferred by clinicians, we are scaling rapidly. Tasks delegated to Heidi help patients feel more cared for, decongest healthcare systems, and enable clinicians to focus on care delivery. Our annual recurring revenue has soared from $1 million to $50 million in just two years, backed by $340 million in funding from notable investors including Blackbird, Phoenix Court, Point72 Private Investments, Headline, and General Catalyst.
The Role
As a Sales Development Representative (SDR) at Heidi, you'll serve as the initial point of contact for clinicians discovering our solution. You will act as the key link between clinicians expressing interest and our Account Executives by transforming cold leads into qualified opportunities and converting inbound inquiries into scheduled discovery and demo meetings.
You'll collaborate within a team of SDRs, mastering outbound outreach, qualifying inbound leads with clinical insight, and creating well-curated pipelines desirable to Account Executives. This position involves regular phone calls, crafting sharp written communications, and iterative testing of messaging strategies to engage diverse clinical audiences.
This is not an entry-level or passive SDR job. We operate in a fast-paced environment with continuous feedback loops, offering a genuine career path from SDR to AE for high performers. If you aspire to thoroughly learn modern sales techniques — including discovery calls, objection management, and maintaining strong CRM discipline — this role provides that immersive experience while contributing to a product clinicians truly value.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct targeted research and outreach within clinic networks, general practices, and health systems to develop a robust pipeline of qualified prospects for Account Executives.
- Execute outbound communication sequences via email, phone, and LinkedIn—testing and refining messages to resonate with various clinical audiences.
- Promptly and precisely qualify inbound leads by asking insightful questions about practice workflows before transitioning them to Account Executives.
- Schedule discovery calls that achieve high attendance by thorough pre-call preparation making clients feel well-understood.
- Diligently update contact and pipeline information in the CRM to ensure data integrity and team utility beyond mere compliance.
- Collaborate closely with marketing and sales teams, sharing valuable market feedback including common objections and customer response trends.
Candidate Profile
- A minimum of one year of experience in an SDR, BDR or related outbound sales role with practical knowledge of executing outreach sequences.
- Comfort in initiating cold calls confidently without prolonged hesitation.
- Excellent written communication skills capable of personalized, authentic outreach rather than templated messaging.
- A strong curiosity and eagerness to learn healthcare industry dynamics to engage credibly with clinicians and practice personnel.
- Consistent CRM upkeep demonstrating discipline beyond last-minute pipeline reviews.
- An enthusiasm for the fast pace and evolving nature of early-stage startup environments without reliance on rigid playbooks.
Company Values & Culture
- We focus on long-term impact over short-term gains, setting ambitious goals to drive meaningful health improvements.
- Proactive leadership encourages solving future challenges today, sometimes creating solutions before demand emerges.
- Evidence-based decision making that prioritizes patient welfare over data when conflicts arise, recognizing humility as essential.
- Ownership mentality where every team member contributes fully—presenting solutions, executing end-to-end, and avoiding passivity.
- An iterative mindset valuing rapid delivery and adjustment rather than prolonged planning.
- A commitment to understanding the real-world conditions clinicians face, designing tools that support their demanding workflows compassionately.
Why Join Heidi?
By joining Heidi, you'll be part of a team dedicated to measurable and meaningful healthcare impact rather than hype. Our diverse group of medicos, engineers, and designers share firsthand understanding of healthcare challenges from multiple perspectives. While the work is demanding given the complexity of healthcare systems, we prioritize sustainable performance and mental well-being, empowering you with trust and flexibility.
We are deeply committed to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging, cultivating a workplace enriched by varied backgrounds and viewpoints. We proudly uphold equal opportunity for all applicants and foster a culture that champions opportunity for everyone.
