Job description
About SimpleGrid
SimpleGrid is an AI-driven operations cloud solution tailored for growing mid-market manufacturers and inventory-focused businesses. The platform integrates inventory, procurement, sales orders, production, costing, planning, and forecasting into a single system, while also connecting seamlessly with existing tools used by customers. Currently, SimpleGrid is expanding its US market presence and is seeking a Sales Development Representative (SDR) based in Bangalore to generate qualified sales opportunities with manufacturing leaders.
Role Description
The SDR’s main responsibility is to initiate and develop qualified sales conversations with American manufacturing companies. This involves researching targeted accounts, reaching out to business owners and operations leaders through thoughtful and personalized multi-channel campaigns, understanding their current business processes, and assessing whether SimpleGrid can effectively address their operational challenges.
You will collaborate closely with the company founders to refine the Ideal Customer Profile (ICP) by providing insights on sectors, pain points, personas, and messaging that generate authentic buyer interest.
Key Responsibilities
- Compile curated account lists focused on priority manufacturing sectors and geographic clusters using resources such as company websites, LinkedIn, industry directories, associations, and event participant lists.
- Identify and map decision-makers within target companies including owners, CEOs, COOs, plant managers, production and planning supervisors, supply chain leaders, and operations controllers.
- Execute outbound outreach campaigns via phone calls, emails, and LinkedIn with messaging tailored specifically to the prospect’s operational context.
- Engage prospects in discovery conversations to uncover issues like fragmented data spreadsheets, lack of inventory visibility, unreliable production plans, delayed cost calculations, late orders, rework, and manual floor reporting.
- Qualify leads based on alignment with product fit, operational challenges, current systems in use, urgency of need, stakeholder involvement, and openness to exploring new approaches.
- Schedule and confirm discovery meetings, providing sales leads with concise summaries covering the problem, involved parties, existing workflows, and next steps.
- Maintain thorough CRM records and share weekly updates regarding objections encountered, sector responses, personas engaged, and effective messaging to help refine the sales playbook.
Performance Expectations
The target is to achieve approximately 8 to 12 qualified meetings per month, with complete CRM documentation and actionable intelligence on which segments demonstrate the highest conversion rates. Core success metrics include number of qualified meetings, opportunity conversion ratio, pipeline generation, account coverage, diligent follow-up, and CRM data accuracy. Activity volume supports achieving these outcomes but is not itself the sole measure.
Candidate Requirements
- Between 2 to 4 years' experience in sales development, business development, or inside sales focused on B2B software or technology services.
- Proven track record prospecting to the US market, including live calling and availability during overlapping US business hours.
- Excellent spoken and written English with the ability to customize communication for owners, plant leaders, and functional executives.
- Strong skills in account research and the ability to detect operational signals prior to engagement.
- Experience using AI tools and AI agents to accelerate prospecting efforts is advantageous.
- A genuine interest in understanding manufacturing processes including order management, inventory control, procurement, production, costing, and delivery.
- Disciplined use of CRM, dependable follow-through, high resilience, coachable attitude, and willingness to iteratively improve outreach approaches weekly.
Additional Preferences
- Experience with ERP, MES, MRP, supply chain, inventory, or industrial software is beneficial.
- Background in prospecting to small and mid-sized manufacturing firms.
- Familiarity with CRM platforms, Sales Navigator, Apollo, Clay, trade shows, or regional field campaigns to facilitate a faster ramp-up.
Why Join SimpleGrid?
- Opportunity to work directly alongside founders who have hands-on experience building and running manufacturing businesses.
- Promote a product designed around measurable operational challenges and contribute to shaping the US go-to-market strategy at an early stage.
- Attractive fixed salary combined with performance-based variable compensation and opportunities for earning additional incentives through consistent pipeline generation.
