Role Overview
We are seeking a Sales Development Representative (SDR) for the Automotive team based in Melbourne. This vital role involves being the initial contact point for new-car dealerships and dealer groups, driving growth in the automotive sector by conducting detailed research and fostering meaningful executive-level conversations that lead to qualified product demos for our Account Executives.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research to map dealer group structures and identify the optimal accounts, key stakeholders, and appropriate timing for engagement.
- Prepare meticulously for calls by understanding the dealership’s background, current systems, integrations, and potential challenges.
- Initiate and maintain executive-level dialogues with dealer principals, general managers, and other decision-makers at OEMs and dealerships.
- Educate prospects on how Podium’s solutions address their challenges and support growth.
- Use a consultative sales process to qualify leads and schedule high-value product demonstrations for Account Executives.
- Collaborate closely with Account Executives and Customer Success Managers to ensure continuity and context throughout the sales process.
- Maintain precise records and manage pipeline activities using Salesforce.
- Consistently achieve monthly goals focused on quality leads and pipeline growth rather than volume alone.
Candidate Qualifications
- Deep familiarity with the automotive industry, preferably from experience at a dealership, an automotive IT company, or similar technology business.
- Professional and polished communication skills, confident in making impactful conversations in brief interactions.
- Ability to work independently, owning responsibilities and pushing tasks forward without extensive supervision.
- Quick learner who applies feedback effectively and takes initiative.
- Comfortable conducting thorough research and preparation prior to outreach, with patience to navigate coordination processes without frustration.
- Persistence tempered by patience, valuing thoroughness over rapid results.
- Commitment to long-term growth by developing expertise and progressing within the company.
- A strong growth mindset with aspirations to transition into an Account Executive within time.
- Direct experience working with dealerships is highly advantageous; prior SDR or outbound sales experience is beneficial but not mandatory.
Benefits and Work Environment
- Clear career progression plan to become an Account Executive with structured coaching and sales training.
- Competitive base pay, superannuation, and uncapped commission with accelerators for exceeding targets.
- Monthly $650 Benefits & Wellbeing Allowance for flexible personal use.
- Comprehensive onboarding and continuous professional development opportunities.
- Collaborative and high-energy workplace culture that celebrates achievement and ambition.
- Modern offices located in Melbourne’s Queen & Collins precinct, including bike storage, lockers, and end-of-trip facilities.
- Fully stocked kitchen offering complimentary snacks and beverages.
