Team Overview
The Sales Compensation team at Stripe governs the compensation strategy, design, and payment execution for the worldwide sales organization. They ensure the alignment of sales goals with compensation frameworks, timely and accurate payment processes, and serve as strategic advisors for go-to-market plans, fostering effective correlation between sales performance and rewards. This team collaborates closely with revenue and support departments to enable sales success.
Role Responsibilities
- Lead the annual design and approval process of sales compensation plans for designated sales teams, incorporating stakeholder feedback.
- Create and monitor specific, measurable metrics within compensation plans aligned with company objectives.
- Manage the deployment and training related to compensation plans.
- Analyze the effectiveness of compensation strategies regularly and incorporate findings into future cycle improvements.
- Design, assess, and evaluate the impact of sales incentive structures such as SPIFFs and MBOs.
- Serve as the principal liaison for sales leadership relating to compensation and goal alignment.
- Maintain and advance sales compensation resources and credit policy enablement across the sales teams.
- Represent sales compensation considerations in cross-functional strategy meetings, including those with Product teams.
- Develop a deep understanding of sales roles, products, and team dynamics.
- Support commission calculation processes as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or related fields.
- A minimum of five years’ experience in sales compensation roles.
- At least two years liaising with senior leadership in Sales, Finance, and Human Resources.
- At least three years managing and designing sales compensation plans.
- Proficiency with CRM platforms such as Salesforce and Incentive Compensation Management tools like Captivate IQ, Varicent, or Xactly.
- Experience with data reporting tools and Tableau.
- Exceptional numerical reasoning, problem-solving, and Excel modeling capabilities.
- Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail and effective prioritization to deliver timely, high-quality results.
- Experience working in fast-paced, high-growth environments administering intricate compensation programs.
- Proven ability to cultivate strong partnerships and influence cross-functional teams including Sales, Finance, and Business Applications.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity using AI technology to improve productivity.
- Background in Sales or Sales Operations roles.
- Experience in SQL programming.
Workplace Expectations
Employees in most Stripe offices, including Dublin, are expected to spend at least half of each month working on-site or engaging directly with users. Some roles, such as those in Stripe Delivery Centers, may require 100% office presence. Specific team attendance policies will be communicated by hiring managers to balance collaboration and flexibility.
Compensation and Benefits
The estimated annual total compensation in Dublin ranges between €96,500 to €144,700. This On Target Earnings figure includes both base salary and potential sales commissions/bonuses. Actual figures vary based on experience, qualifications, and location.
