Safety & Security Officer

Job Overview

This position entails identifying and mitigating potential safety threats, enforcing the organization's safety standards, and coordinating with local emergency responders. The officer serves as the primary defense to prevent accidents, unauthorized entries, and breaches, ensuring a safe and secure environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and assess surveillance cameras, alarm systems, and entry points to the premises.
• Perform routine patrols around property to detect hazards or security violations.
• Implement and uphold safety rules and corporate policies, including fire safety measures and the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Provide rapid response to medical incidents, accidents, or security threats and document these events through incident reports.
• Educate employees about essential safety protocols and emergency evacuation procedures.

Qualifications & Skills Required

• Completion of high school education or a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Occupational Health and Safety, or related disciplines.
• Demonstrated experience working as a Safety Officer, Security Guard, or equivalent positions.
• Possession of a valid security or safety certification such as OSHA or NEBOSH.
• Heightened observational abilities coupled with the capacity to maintain composure during emergencies.
• Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively and resolve conflicts efficiently.
