Safety Assistant

Overview

The Safety Assistant role focuses on promoting workplace safety by conducting regular inspections, delivering safety orientations, and ensuring adherence to local health and safety standards in Qatar.

Primary Duties

• Perform daily assessments of work sites, buildings, and facilities to identify potential hazards, unsafe behaviors, and fire threats.
• Examine safety equipment such as fire extinguishers, emergency exits, and personal protective gear.
• Support the organization and delivery of safety inductions for new employees, toolbox discussions, and emergency procedure drills.
• Assist senior safety personnel in documenting near-miss incidents, compiling safety-related data, and accident investigations.
• Ensure compliance with local labor regulations and international safety standards.

Qualifications

• Completion of high school, technical diploma, or a bachelor's degree in science or engineering.
• Between 5 and 8 years of experience at entry-level roles in sectors such as construction, hospitality, or facilities management.
• Possession of fundamental health and safety certifications, including NEBOSH, IOSH, or OSHA certificates.
• Proficiency in English, both spoken and written; knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.
