Overview
The Safety Assistant role focuses on promoting workplace safety by conducting regular inspections, delivering safety orientations, and ensuring adherence to local health and safety standards in Qatar.
Primary Duties
- Perform daily assessments of work sites, buildings, and facilities to identify potential hazards, unsafe behaviors, and fire threats.
- Examine safety equipment such as fire extinguishers, emergency exits, and personal protective gear.
- Support the organization and delivery of safety inductions for new employees, toolbox discussions, and emergency procedure drills.
- Assist senior safety personnel in documenting near-miss incidents, compiling safety-related data, and accident investigations.
- Ensure compliance with local labor regulations and international safety standards.
Qualifications
- Completion of high school, technical diploma, or a bachelor's degree in science or engineering.
- Between 5 and 8 years of experience at entry-level roles in sectors such as construction, hospitality, or facilities management.
- Possession of fundamental health and safety certifications, including NEBOSH, IOSH, or OSHA certificates.
- Proficiency in English, both spoken and written; knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.
