Job description
Position Overview
This role is perfect for individuals aspiring to build a solid career in safety within a large manufacturing setting located in Central Mangrove, New South Wales. As a newly established position reflecting the company's growth, it offers hands-on experience with the goal of advancing into a Safety Manager role.
Key Responsibilities
The coordinator will collaborate closely with the Safety Manager to support daily Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) operations across a bustling production floor. This position extends beyond administrative duties, requiring active engagement on the factory floor including safety discussions, inspections, follow-up on required actions, and assistance with risk identification and management. Additional responsibilities include aiding in incident investigations, conducting risk assessments and audits, facilitating training and inductions, and contributing to the continual enhancement of the site’s safety protocols.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will be organized, approachable, self-assured, and able to comfortably address safety concerns, including potentially difficult conversations. While extensive safety experience is not mandatory, applicants with backgrounds in manufacturing, warehousing, or operations who are motivated to transition into safety are encouraged to apply. A Certificate IV in WHS is advantageous but not compulsory, as the company offers support through a comprehensive one-week safety training course and ongoing on-the-job learning.
Additional Details and Benefits
This opportunity includes a supportive work environment, flexible scheduling for start and finish times, a 4% annual bonus, time off in lieu when necessary, and meaningful career growth prospects within safety. You'll be part of AGRANA's collaborative culture, a leading name involved in producing fruit ingredients for various consumer products worldwide.
