Job Overview

Join Planet Rock as a Routesetter at our Grand Rapids, MI location, where you'll be responsible for designing, installing, and maintaining climbing routes and boulders to provide an engaging and dynamic experience for all climbers.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance by stripping and washing climbing holds.
• Ensure a consistent refresh of routes under the guidance of the head setter.
• Collaborate with routesetters from other Planet Rock gyms to maintain a cohesive setting team.
• Document maintenance activities accurately in wall logs alongside the wall manager.
• Set climbing problems for local competitions following scheduling by the head setter.
• Pursue advanced route-setting certifications for competitions if desired.

Position Details

• Location: Grand Rapids, MI
• Hourly wage: $15 to $20
• Employment type: Full-time
• Availability to work occasional weekend events
• Prefer candidates with previous climbing gym and routesetting experience
