Rotating Equipment Technician

Role Overview

The Rotating Equipment Technician joins the Central Maintenance Team to perform both preventive and corrective maintenance tasks in line with the AMS ME Process at the Pearl GTL Complex. This role is pivotal in preserving critical rotating machinery following approved maintenance plans, processes, and instructions to ensure operational availability and system integrity.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute maintenance jobs timely, safely, and with high standards while fostering continuous improvement.
• Diagnose and address complex faults and non-compliances; overhaul a variety of rotating equipment; maintain and troubleshoot dry and wet gas seals, white metal bearings, and mechanical transmission units.
• Carry out on-site alignments (cold/hot); inspect both gas turbines (combustion ignition, high gas path inspection, major) and steam turbines (minor/major); commission and test rotating devices; verify shaft, stator/rotor, and bearing clearances.
• Prepare maintenance job plans, cost estimations, and timelines; organize maintenance and integrity activities; determine spare part needs and update reorder levels; manage contractor services.
• Define hazard controls for engineering processes; implement plant system modifications based on authorized change requests; interpret technical schematics, OEM instructions, and standards; utilize the right tools and precision gauges.
• Maintain associated air systems and hydraulic parts; ensure appropriate lubricant types and methods are applied.

Candidate Profile

• Possess technical education in engineering at a diploma level or equivalent.
• Have between 8 to 12 years of demonstrated experience in the Oil, Gas, or Petrochemical sectors, especially in maintaining large rotating machinery such as pumps, compressors, turbines, engines, and generators.
• Show expertise in executing safety-critical processes.
• Be competent with handheld and online equipment condition monitoring technologies.
• Understand how to use vibration analysis tools and interpret their data.
• Have knowledge of international standards and design engineering practices related to rotating equipment.
• Be familiar with machining processes using workshop machine tools.
• Hold skills related to dynamic balancing of rotating machinery.
