Room Technician

Position Overview

This full-time Room Technician role is based in Dubai Marina, Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The technician will be responsible for addressing guest repair requests and maintaining hotel property equipment to ensure smooth operations and guest satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to repair requests from guests and communicate with them to resolve maintenance issues.
• Perform preventive upkeep on tools, kitchen, and mechanical room equipment, including cleaning and lubricating components.
• Conduct visual inspections of tools, equipment, or machines and carry necessary equipment such as tools and radio devices.
• Identify, locate, and operate all utility and equipment shut-off valves within the building.
• Manage the maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies as necessary.
• Communicate daily activities and issues to other shifts using approved communication methods.
• Demonstrate fundamental knowledge, or willingness to learn, in various technical areas such as air conditioning, refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic and electronic systems, carpentry, kitchen equipment, vehicles, and energy conservation.
• Perform surface preparation tasks, painting, minor drywall and wood trim repairs, light bulb and air conditioning filter replacements, and thorough cleaning of worked areas.
• Test, diagnose, and repair equipment, plumbing fixtures, electrical components including lamps and switches, household items, and program televisions.
• Conduct general housekeeping and manage engineering-related inventory duties.
• Apply Lockout/Tagout procedures prior to maintenance activities.
• Carry out landscaping repairs including irrigation sprinkler maintenance.
• Use basic computer skills for inputting air handler schedules and adjusting temperatures.
• Follow all safety and security policies; report maintenance problems, safety hazards, and accidents promptly.
• Maintain professional appearance and confidentiality while protecting company assets.
• Deliver excellent guest service by welcoming guests, anticipating needs, and assisting guests with disabilities.
• Collaborate effectively with coworkers, communicate clearly, and support team objectives.
• Physically capable of lifting up to 50 pounds independently and performing tasks involving reaching, bending, stooping, stair and ladder use.
• Perform other duties as required by supervisors.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
• Some experience in general maintenance, including painting and surface preparation.
• Experience in hotel engineering or maintenance is advantageous.
• Possession of a valid driver's license required.
• No supervisory experience is expected for this role.
