Room Attendant

Overview

This position at Wickaninnish Inn in Tofino, British Columbia, is a full-time, onsite role with no remote work option. The role is classified as a green job, contributing to environmental preservation and supporting Canada's net-zero objectives.

Primary Responsibilities

• Sweeping, mopping, washing, and polishing floors
• Dusting furniture and vacuuming carpets, rugs, draperies, and upholsteries
• Making beds and changing bed linens
• Stocking the linen closet
• Cleaning, disinfecting, and polishing kitchen and bathroom fixtures and appliances
• Sanitizing operating rooms and other specified areas
• Cleaning and disinfecting elevators
• Handling and reporting lost and found items promptly
• Attending to guests' requests for additional supplies or items
• Providing basic information about the facility to guests
• Collecting debris and emptying trash containers
• Assisting clients with bathing and personal hygiene tasks
• Mending clothing and linens as needed
• Performing light housekeeping and cleaning duties
• Shopping for food and household provisions
• Cleaning windows, walls, ceilings, changing rooms, and showers
• Addressing customer complaints or concerns professionally

Qualifications and Experience

• No formal degree, certificate, or diploma required
• Prior experience is considered an asset
• Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) certification required
• Experience or specialization in the green economy sector is favorable

• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced setting
• Capability to meet tight deadlines and handle repetitive tasks
• Physically demanding work involving bending, crouching, kneeling, standing for long durations, walking, sitting, and standing alternately
