Job Summary

This roofing position involves on-site work across various outdoor locations, often at elevated heights, requiring physical stamina and a team-oriented approach.

Responsibilities

• Install built-up roofing assemblies using materials like asphalt felts, hot asphalt, and gravel.
• Lay roofing tiles on sloped building roofs.
• Apply single-ply roofing systems made from waterproof sheets including modified plastics and elastomeric substances.
• Apply waterproof coatings to concrete or masonry surfaces both above and below ground.
• Perform installation and repair of metal roofing using hand and power tools.
• Fit sheet metal flashings to roofing structures.
• Calculate estimates on material needs and project costs.
• Set up scaffolding, falsework, and other temporary working platforms as needed.

Requirements

• Secondary (high) school graduation certificate is required.
• Experience ranging from seven months up to but less than one year in roofing or related fields.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in a fast-paced outdoor setting.
• Comfortable working at heights and outdoors in varying locations.
• Capable of frequent bending, crouching, kneeling, and lifting loads up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
• Must undergo a criminal record check.
