Role Summary
The Robotics Service Engineer plays a vital technical role supporting deployed robotic systems. Responsibilities include installing, commissioning, performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairing, and offering after-sales support to ensure ongoing reliable robot operation across customer locations.
Key Duties
- Install, configure, test, and commission robotic systems on-site, ensuring safety and operational readiness.
- Coordinate site preparation and technical needs for successful deployments.
- Execute scheduled maintenance, inspections, calibrations, and component replacements to prevent downtime.
- Diagnose and fix hardware, software, electrical, mechanical, network, and sensor issues both remotely and on-site; escalate complex cases.
- Support ROS2/AimRT and NVIDIA Jetson robotics platforms through monitoring, telemetry analysis, and system restoration.
- Serve as primary technical liaison for customers, addressing service requests, providing basic training, and ensuring clear communication.
- Document maintenance activities, troubleshooting outcomes, recurring issues, and collaborate with engineering teams to enhance product reliability and service processes.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Robotics, Mechatronics, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automation, or a related technical discipline.
- 1 to 3 years of practical experience in robotics, automation, field servicing, maintenance, or system integration roles.
- Hands-on familiarity with electrical, mechanical, and robotic systems and strong troubleshooting capabilities.
- Comfortable working with Linux; knowledge of ROS/ROS2 and NVIDIA Jetson platforms is advantageous.
- Basic knowledge of networking, sensors, system connectivity, and ability to interpret technical documents, wiring diagrams, and manuals.
- Customer-focused with strong communication skills to explain technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with readiness to travel to customer sites for field support.
- Strong interest in AI, robotics, and automation technologies highly preferred.
