Job description

About BeeX

BeeX is at the forefront of developing the most advanced Hovering Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (HAUVs) worldwide. We specialize in autonomous robotics tailored to protect underwater assets in maritime, energy, and defense sectors, significantly cutting over 90% of carbon emissions. As pioneers of Autonomous Robotics-as-a-Service (ARaaS) globally, our solutions draw from extensive experience operating in harsh aquatic environments. Our goal is to provide integrated asset integrity management, ensuring asset safety and protection.

Joining BeeX means contributing to solving emerging industry challenges through bold, innovative approaches. Our multidisciplinary teams excel in dynamic environments, delivering transformative technology that impacts the world. Individual career growth is self-driven, with opportunities to engage in the entire deep tech lifecycle from design through commercialization.

What You'll Do

  • Assist in designing, implementing, and testing electrical and mechanical systems for HAUVs, both in the workshop and field settings.
  • Develop and maintain fabrication drawings (including CAD and PCB), Bills of Materials, and coordinate with vendors to uphold production standards.
  • Create and refine test fixtures, protocols, and data logging mechanisms.
  • Support ongoing engineering efforts post-product release by tracking issues, analyzing failures, and recommending incremental enhancements.
  • Troubleshoot and debug components to identify and resolve problems.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions for product defects.
  • Analyze test data to detect performance issues, failure patterns, or design vulnerabilities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive design modifications and process improvements based on reliability and testing insights.
  • Conduct and oversee reliability testing, including life-cycle, environmental stress, vibration/shock, and thermal cycling tests.
  • Document technical details comprehensively, covering design, assembly, testing procedures, service guides, and failure analyses.

Desired Skills and Qualifications

  • Diploma or Bachelor of Engineering in Robotics, Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Engineering, or related disciplines.
  • Between one and three years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks or comparable CAD software for engineering design.
  • Knowledge of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to assess structural component integrity.
  • Understanding of prototyping techniques and manufacturing processes including 3D printing, laser cutting, CNC machining, welding, and working with composites.
  • Experience using Altium Designer or equivalent PCB CAD tools.
  • Practical skills in soldering, crimping, and wire harness assembly.
  • Competence in embedded systems programming using C++.
  • Familiarity with battery-powered design, microcontrollers, sensor/actuator interfacing, and embedded electronics.
  • Exposure to quality control and testing procedures for EMI-EMC, vibration, temperature, and humidity is advantageous.
  • Experience with schematic capture, wire harness, and cable assembly design software is a plus.

Compensation and Benefits

  • A competitive market-rate salary package.
  • Opportunities for growth based on your individual contributions rather than traditional corporate progression.
  • Equity participation through ESOP.
  • Healthcare benefits provision.
  • Exclusive access to relevant industry events.
  • Support for continuous skills development and learning credits.

Additional Information

This position requires working location in Singapore with on-site duties including participation in sea trials and office-based activities. You will report directly to the Hardware Lead and interact regularly with multi-disciplinary teams.

Ideal Candidate Attributes:

  • Passionate about product design and continuous improvement.
  • Thrives in fast-moving startup environments focused on long-term growth.
  • Capable of working independently while collaborating effectively with team members across functions.
