Job description

Role Overview

Become a key member of the RAC team as a Roadside Technician, playing an essential role in keeping UK drivers moving. This position requires either a Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) coupled with over two years of hands-on experience, or at least five years working as a Vehicle Technician or Mechanic. The role offers a substantial base salary and potential to increase earnings through bonuses and overtime.

Work Environment

You will operate primarily within the Slough cluster, serving areas such as Slough, Windsor, Maidenhead, Marlow, High Wycombe, Beaconsfield, and Gerrards Cross. Your workday begins and ends at your home, with demand-led shifts averaging around 40 hours weekly and chances for additional overtime.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver expert roadside mechanical repairs and vehicle diagnostics.
  • Provide emergency breakdown assistance including battery replacements, tire changes, and comprehensive fault detection.
  • Respond promptly to breakdown calls to restore vehicles swiftly, offering excellent member service at all times.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience, or a minimum of 5 years as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
  • Must hold a valid UK driving license with less than six penalty points.
