About the Role

Transport for NSW is seeking a dedicated Road Worker to join their team in Broken Hill, NSW. This permanent full-time position involves contributing to the construction, maintenance, and renewal of vital road infrastructure that enhances safety and resilience on the network.

Key Duties

  • Collaborate within a team to deliver essential road infrastructure projects across NSW.
  • Perform practical tasks including maintaining and constructing pavements, drainage systems, roadside traffic signals, and signage.
  • Take advantage of opportunities to develop skills such as obtaining traffic control certifications and operating plant machinery.
  • Work outdoors to ensure safer, smoother roads and durable infrastructure.
  • Operate on a schedule of nine days per fortnight, enjoying every second Friday off.

Candidate Profile

  • Demonstrate a strong work ethic, dependability, and a positive outlook applicable from any previous experience or sector.
  • Be flexible, safety-conscious, and physically capable for outdoor manual work.
  • Exhibit teamwork, initiative, and a commitment to completing tasks efficiently and safely.
  • No prior road or laboring experience is required, as a willingness to learn and a good attitude are key.
