Overview

AtkinsRéalis seeks an experienced Risk Manager based in Riyadh, KSA, to lead risk management efforts on major infrastructure projects encompassing roads, highways, bridges, and related facilities. This position requires implementing and maintaining robust risk management methodologies within a Project Management Consultancy (PMC) setting, ensuring project delivery aligns with objectives related to cost, schedule, quality, safety, and stakeholder expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and apply comprehensive risk management frameworks, methodologies, and procedures adhering to global best practices.
  • Organize and lead risk identification workshops involving diverse project stakeholders including consultants, contractors, and clients.
  • Create and sustain detailed risk registers at both project and program levels.
  • Perform both qualitative and quantitative risk analyses addressing areas such as design, construction, procurement, permitting, utilities, traffic management, environmental factors, and stakeholder coordination.
  • Devise and implement risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans to minimize project vulnerabilities.
  • Continuously monitor emerging risks and opportunities, advising proactive risk responses.
  • Conduct advanced quantitative risk assessments (QRAs), including Monte Carlo simulations, to evaluate schedule and budget uncertainties.
  • Interpret probabilistic outcomes (e.g., P50, P80, P90 confidence levels) to support reliable forecasting.
  • Identify critical risk contributors and suggest measures for risk reduction.
  • Generate and present Schedule Risk Analysis (SRA) and Cost Risk Analysis (CRA) reports tailored to executive and client audiences.
  • Integrate risk management with project controls, scheduling, cost management, and planning functions.
  • Prepare risk dashboards and comprehensive reports to keep leadership and clients informed on risk status and mitigation effectiveness.
  • Facilitate risk review meetings and maintain active engagement with key project teams and external stakeholders across engineering, commercial, construction, HSE, and contract management sectors.
  • Ensure adherence to client requirements, governance standards, and contractual compliance related to risk management.
  • Promote a culture of risk awareness throughout the project organization.
  • Participate in audits, assurance processes, and contribute to ongoing lessons learned and process improvements.

Qualifications and Experience

  • At least 20 years’ experience in project controls, risk management, or project management roles.
  • Minimum of 10 years dedicated experience specifically in risk management.
  • Proven background working in PMC or engineering consultancy environments.
  • Demonstrable expertise managing large-scale infrastructure projects including roads, highways, bridges, and transport systems.
  • Extensive experience conducting Monte Carlo simulations and quantitative risk assessments on major capital projects.
  • Preferred experience engaging with government agencies, transport authorities, and large infrastructure programs in the Middle East region.
  • Strong knowledge of advanced risk management tools and concepts including Quantitative Risk Assessment, Monte Carlo Simulation, Schedule Risk Analysis, Cost Risk Analysis, Confidence Level Forecasting (P50/P80/P90), and Earned Value Management.
