Job description
Overview
The position aims to enhance revenue and profitability through detailed analysis of demand patterns, forecasting passenger volumes, managing dynamic pricing strategies, and overseeing efficient control of seat inventory.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop precise demand forecasts by evaluating historical datasets, booking progression curves, and current market trends.
- Assess route performance metrics including load factors, Revenue per Available Seat Kilometer (RASK), yield, and overall revenue contribution to identify areas for financial growth and suggest appropriate interventions.
- Advise on competitive pricing approaches that sustain revenue integrity.
- Continuously track competitor fare pricing, market developments, and fare changes to remain competitive.
- Perform analyses on fare elasticity and price sensitivity to optimize pricing.
- Administer booking classes and seat distribution across flight networks ensuring optimal inventory management.
- Fine-tune overbooking thresholds informed by historical data on no-shows and route-specific performance.
- Collaborate with Scheduling, Operations, and Sales departments to dynamically adjust seat availability as needed.
- Operate revenue management software tools such as PROS, Amadeus, and Sabre to manage pricing and inventory control effectively.
- Produce and automate performance and revenue reporting to support decision-making.
- Assist in the financial monitoring of newly launched routes, performing demand forecasting and break-even evaluations.
- Work in conjunction with Sales, Marketing, Network Planning, and Finance teams to provide analytically grounded support for promotional initiatives and fare campaigns.
Qualifications & Experience
- A bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Statistics, Aviation, or a related field.
- Two to four years of professional experience in revenue management within the airline industry.
