Retail Security Officer

About the Role

Join G4S Secure Solutions Ireland as a Retail Security Officer based in Dublin City. This position involves providing premium security services at a key client location, requiring a mix of traditional vigilance and modern technology skills. The role offers a diverse range of assignments across Ireland, coupled with continuous training and development opportunities.

Compensation and Schedule

• Base pay at 41.41 per hour
• Additional compensation includes a Sunday premium of .44 per hour, 20.00 per shift for unsociable hours, overtime at 1.5x pay after 96 hours per fortnight, and double pay for bank holidays when worked, as per the ERO order
• Contractual hours total 36 per week
• Work schedule spans Monday through Sunday with flexibility required to cover shifts between 7am and 8pm

Core Responsibilities

• Operate control room and surveillance systems, continuously monitoring live CCTV footage to detect any suspicious or unsafe activities
• Respond promptly to alarms such as intruder, fire, and access control alerts
• Keep detailed, real-time digital logs of all incidents and shift occurrences
• Perform routine checks on security equipment including cameras and radios, reporting malfunctions immediately
• Manage access by verifying employee badges and registering visitors at building entry points
• Conduct documented foot patrols to ensure security and compliance with fire and safety protocols
• Serve as first responder to emergencies until arrival of external emergency services
• Prepare precise and professional incident reports for management review
• Maintain courteous communication as the primary liaison for staff, contractors, and visitors

Qualifications and Experience

• Mandatory possession of a valid PSA Static Security License
• Possession of PSA Retail Guarding License is advantageous
• Strong technical proficiency in operating security systems
• Excellent English communication skills (minimum C1 level), capable of producing client-ready reports
• At least three years' experience in a corporate security role within Ireland
• High discretion and ability to maintain confidentiality at all times
