Retail Security Officer

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure the security and safety of customers' assets and personnel by following detailed Assignment Instructions and adapting to any published updates.
• Meet or exceed Key Performance Indicators and Service Level Agreements to support contract retention.
• Commit to ongoing training for personal and professional development.
• Comply fully with legal, regulatory, and company policies, including maintaining valid Security Industry Authority (SIA) licenses for Security Guarding or Door Supervision and CCTV PSS SIA license as required.
• Carry out all site tasks as outlined in Assignment Instructions with accuracy and diligence.
• Identify and recommend improvements to the existing security processes and procedures.
• Strictly follow operational protocols, exhibit systematic and organized work habits, and adhere to health, safety, and security regulations.
• Use technology to support work objectives and maintain competency through continual professional development.
• Renew licenses timely, specifically at least 16 weeks before expiry.
• Report health and safety hazards promptly and remain vigilant to any risks or security threats.
• Respond proactively and appropriately to potential or actual incidents, involving others when necessary.
• Maintain professionalism under pressure and manage challenging interactions effectively.
• Accurately document incidents in notebooks to support official reporting.
• Adhere strictly to work schedules and complete check calls as mandated.
• promptly notify emergency services and the Communication Centre regarding incidents.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Prior experience in Security Services is essential.
• Possession of a valid SIA license mandatory.
• Security Clearance (SC) is advantageous but not required.
• A driving license is a beneficial asset.
