Job description

Role Overview

We are seeking a motivated and customer-oriented Parts Supervisor to oversee the efficient operation of a busy parts department and retail showroom. This position is ideal for individuals experienced in parts retail or machinery sectors who excel at leadership and delivering excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily activities in the parts department and showroom, delegating tasks as necessary.
  • Provide exceptional customer service in-person, as well as via phone and email communications.
  • Maintain showroom standards, ensuring merchandise is attractively displayed, accurately priced, and fully stocked.
  • Efficiently handle customer orders, provide quotations, and execute sales transactions.
  • Source and procure parts from suppliers and other branches to fulfill customer needs.
  • Coordinate stock transfers and assist with inventory control and regular stock audits.
  • Accurately process cash and card payments, including invoice generation.
  • Identify and promote opportunities to upsell products, accessories, and ongoing promotions.
  • Assist with logistics involving goods receipt, dispatch, loading, unloading, and packaging.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal colleagues.
  • Stay informed about new products through supplier training and updates.
  • Support departmental objectives and contribute positively to company success.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and health and safety regulations.

Candidate Profile

  • Experience in parts departments, retail, or showroom environments.
  • Proven sales experience with a strong focus on customer satisfaction and sales targets.
  • Familiarity with groundcare equipment or similar machinery and associated products.
  • Competency in stock management and inventory control processes.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Professional, approachable demeanor.
  • Proficient IT skills, including email and inventory/sales software use.
  • Keen attention to detail and accuracy when handling transactions.
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Flexible and composed under pressure in a fast-moving workplace.
  • Respectful handling of confidential information.
