Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Store Manager in leading a passionate retail team to deliver outstanding customer service.
  • Mentor and inspire team members daily by setting a strong example.
  • Coach staff to improve their skills and product knowledge, and support their ongoing development.
  • Ensure a positive and inclusive workplace culture that motivates the team.
  • Promote a mindset focused on safety and workplace health, fostering a culture of safety among the team.
  • Help manage inventory by ensuring accurate stock control and adherence to stock integrity procedures.
  • Assist with visual merchandising to maintain high standards of product displays.
  • Keep current with knowledge on pet care, products, and services, demonstrating ongoing personal initiative.
  • Recruit, onboard, and train new team members effectively to build a high-calibre workforce.
  • Engage with local marketing activities and sponsorships to support store visibility.

Qualifications & Experience Required

  • Experience in a similar retail leadership role or readiness to take a career step into retail management.
  • A proven track record of meeting or surpassing sales targets.
  • Strong leadership skills with an ability to motivate teams and cultivate a positive, high-performing culture.
  • Capability to manage competing priorities and deliver results on schedule.
  • Knowledge and practice of Work Health & Safety guidelines to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Solid business awareness and acumen.
  • Flexibility to adjust to a dynamic workplace environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to build relationships with customers and colleagues alike.
