Job description
Position Overview
The Reservations Coordinator role involves managing all aspects of reservation requests received via telephone, fax, or mail. Key responsibilities include assessing guest needs to allocate the appropriate room type, confirming room and rate availability, and clearly explaining policies related to guarantees, special rates, and cancellations. The position requires documenting and honoring special guest requests, handling inquiries about hotel facilities and accommodations, and employing effective sales strategies to optimize revenue. Using the reservation system to enter accurate data and codes for special reservation types such as complimentary stays, employee discounts, or travel agent rates is essential. The coordinator must escalate guest issues appropriately.

The role demands strict adherence to company policies, including maintaining a clean and professional appearance and safeguarding confidential information and company assets. It involves welcoming guests warmly, addressing their needs attentively, assisting guests with disabilities, and engaging in clear, polite communication. Building positive relationships with colleagues, supporting team goals, and respecting employee concerns are also important. Compliance with quality assurance standards is mandatory. Physical requirements include safely handling objects up to 10 pounds. Other duties may be assigned by supervisors as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required.
- No prior relevant work experience necessary.
- No supervisory experience or special licenses/certifications required.
