Job Overview
The role of Research Analyst – Sell Side in the equity research team is aimed at candidates with 5 to 10 years of experience. This full-time position based in Andheri, Mumbai (on site) seeks professionals capable of delivering institutional and retail equity research, financial analysis, sector monitoring, and investment recommendations to aid portfolio and investment decisions. Immediate to short notice joiners are preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute thorough research at industry, sector, and company levels applying both top-down and bottom-up methodologies.
- Compile and manage extensive datasets utilizing financial and market data from Bloomberg, Reuters, and other research platforms.
- Conduct detailed financial analysis including ratio analysis, earnings forecasts, financial modeling, and valuation exercises.
- Formulate and deliver investment theses, recommendations, and pragmatic investment ideas.
- Keep abreast of companies, sectors, competitive environments, industry trends, growth factors, and market events.
- Compose research reports, investment briefs, sector updates, strategy papers, and advisory materials.
- Contribute regularly to research publications such as morning notes, conference call summaries, sector-specific reports, and strategic analyses.
- Support portfolio construction and investment choices through research insights.
- Engage in internal discussions, research publications, and collaboration with the investment team.
- Monitor earnings releases, corporate happenings, broader macroeconomic variables, and relevant market trends for assigned sectors.
Preferred Sector Expertise
- Automobiles
- Banking or Non-Banking Financial Companies (NBFC)
- Small and Mid Cap sectors with focus on Hospitality or Pharma preferred
- Capital Goods and Industrials
Requirements
- Between 5 and 10 years of solid equity research experience.
- Current or last role must be as a Research Analyst; Research Associates considered if over six years relevant experience.
- Proven skill set in financial modeling, valuation methods, earnings analysis, and investment research.
- Expertise in at least one of the preferred sectors stated.
- Strong capability in analysis, research composition, and communication.
- Competent in distilling large financial and market datasets into actionable investment insights.
