Role Overview

This full-time onsite role based in Lucknow involves gathering news from field sources, conducting interviews, verifying facts, and producing well-researched news stories. The Reporter will cover local happenings, politics, social concerns, and community events, consistently pitching story ideas and meeting daily editorial deadlines. Responsibilities include writing for both print and digital media, coordinating with editors and multimedia teams, and shaping content suitable for various formats. Monitoring emerging news trends, nurturing source networks, and upholding journalistic integrity and ethics are fundamental duties.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Demonstrated ability in reporting, including field coverage, cultivating sources, and rigorous fact-checking.
  • Proficiency in writing clear, concise, and engaging news stories.
  • Strong communication skills to conduct interviews, collaborate with editorial departments, and engage diverse communities.
  • Basic multimedia capabilities such as photography and videography, and working alongside digital content creators.
  • Educational credentials in Journalism, Mass Communication, or related disciplines are advantageous.
  • In-depth knowledge of current affairs and local issues pertinent to Lucknow and Uttar Pradesh, along with an understanding of media ethical standards.
  • Ability to manage strict deadlines, adapt to flexible schedules, and perform well in a dynamic news environment.
  • Fluency in Hindi and English, both written and spoken, is beneficial.
