Position Overview

We are seeking a full-time, on-premises Reporter for our Ahmedabad office. The incumbent will research and collect news from various sources, conduct interviews, and verify data to craft stories that are balanced and precise. Core tasks entail producing news articles daily, reporting on current affairs, and collaborating closely with editors to polish content and meet strict deadlines. The reporter will cover designated beats, attend public events and press briefings, and might also contribute to multimedia elements such as photographs, videos, and digital features.

Key Responsibilities

• Gather news and conduct interviews across assigned topics and beats.
• Verify facts meticulously to ensure accuracy and fairness in reporting.
• Write clear and concise news articles to be published on schedule.
• Work alongside editors to revise and improve stories for publication.
• Attend events, press conferences, and other newsworthy gatherings to report firsthand.
• Contribute multimedia content including photographs and short videos to enrich online storytelling.
• Maintain professional contacts within the media and community for timely information.
• Adhere rigorously to journalistic ethics and editorial standards.

Qualifications and Skills

• Exceptional proficiency in news writing and reporting with the ability to cover diverse stories effectively.
• Strong writing and verbal communication skills, capable of simplifying complex topics for a broad audience.
• Basic multimedia skills to create supportive visual content such as photos or social media materials.
• Experience with interviewing, fact-checking, and knowledge of media law and journalistic ethics is advantageous.
• Preferably holds a bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, or a related discipline or equivalent professional experience.
• Ability to excel in a deadline-heavy, fast-moving newsroom environment while maintaining high accuracy.
• Fluency in English and familiarity with local languages spoken in Ahmedabad media markets is a plus.
