Team Overview
The Renewals team manages the commercial success of Mixpanel's existing customers throughout the APAC region, focusing on protecting and increasing renewable annual recurring revenue (ARR). They proactively manage every account's full renewal lifecycle with early planning, value-driven customer leadership, and strategic commercial engagement to foster long-lasting partnerships.
This cross-functional team collaborates closely with Customer Value Architects, Account Executives, Deal Desk, Finance, Legal, Marketing, and Product to drive consistent, predictable revenue retention and successful customer outcomes across the region.
Role Description
As a Renewals Manager, you will be fully responsible for the commercial performance of your assigned customer portfolio. You will adopt a forward-looking, year-long strategy across renewal planning, aligning stakeholders, and negotiation processes focused on customer satisfaction, retention, and sustainable expansion.
Your ownership includes from initial strategy and stakeholder alignment to negotiation, contract completion, and post-renewal engagement, ensuring revenue growth goals are met with transparency, minimal surprises, and strong forecast accuracy. Leadership requires a value-centric approach, understanding customer achievements with Mixpanel, and building commercial plans around those results.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain a clear understanding of your book's commercial health, including risks, potential opportunities, and required actions to meet quarterly and yearly targets.
- Create documented renewal plans for important accounts, collaborating with Account Executives and Customer Value Architects to align on customer priorities, risks, and growth areas.
- Safeguard the commercial baseline by evaluating long-term effects of pricing, concessions, contract modifications, and commitments before final approval.
- Lead renewal negotiations confidently, crafting value-based pricing and packaging that defend Mixpanel's commercial interests while securing mutually beneficial outcomes.
- Drive the achievement of standard renewal uplifts and convert one-year renewals into multi-year agreements when suitable.
- Ensure weekly forecasting is precise, reflecting actual commercial positions, through disciplined CRM maintenance including tracking next steps, close dates, forecast categories, and detailed notes, avoiding surprises as quarters conclude.
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with key customer contacts well before renewals, enabling internal advocacy through clear communication of Mixpanel's value.
- Coordinate renewal activities across multiple teams including Customer Value, Account Executives, Deal Desk, Finance, Legal, Product, and Marketing to guarantee accountability and alignment.
- Oversee accounts' commercial positions throughout their lifecycle, managing amendments, restructures, credits, and interim negotiations in alignment with the broader renewal plan.
- Conclude each renewal with a thorough handover and success plan while contributing insights on negotiation tactics, risk trends, and process enhancements to team protocols.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum 2 years of experience in SaaS renewals, account management, or similar customer-facing commercial roles with proven success in retaining and expanding revenue.
- Demonstrated proficiency managing multi-stakeholder commercial processes end-to-end, from initial planning through execution.
- Strong commercial acumen and negotiation capabilities, able to design and defend value-based pricing and packaging strategies with senior stakeholders.
- Disciplined in forecasting and CRM use, with risk identification well in advance (120+ days) and minimal last-minute surprises.
- Focus on value-driven strategies, comprehending customer outcomes and building plans around these results.
- Experienced working cross-functionally with Account Executives, Customer Success, Deal Desk, Finance, and Legal teams to facilitate customer success.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills developing trusted relationships with economic decision-makers and executive sponsors.
- Proactive and accountable approach, maintaining clarity on book status and potential changes.
- Active utilization of AI tools to enhance efficiency is mandatory.
- Resilient, adaptable, and curious about product analytics and data-driven customer experience enhancement.

- Skill in structuring multi-year and multi-product commercial contracts.
- Familiarity with Salesforce and sales enablement tools like Gong, or customer health platforms such as Statisfy.
- Knowledge of Mixpanel or other product analytics software.
- Multilingual capabilities relevant for APAC region.
- Background in analytics, data, marketing technologies, or developer-focused tools.
- Experience in rapidly scaling SaaS companies (Series B to E or later).
