Release Manager

Role Overview

The Release Manager position is a full-time remote opportunity responsible for orchestrating software releases involving multiple teams and deployment environments. This role entails planning release schedules, ensuring seamless integration of components, and working closely with development, quality assurance, and operations teams to guarantee smooth deployment cycles.

Key Duties

• Create and manage release plans and schedules to coordinate software delivery.
• Maintain comprehensive release documentation and track potential risks and issues throughout the process.
• Facilitate meetings related to release activities and resolve challenges concerning configurations and dependencies.
• Collaborate across cross-functional teams to align release efforts with broader program goals.
• Continuously enhance release procedures by analyzing feedback and optimizing based on gathered data.
• Communicate release status and its impact clearly to both technical stakeholders and non-technical audiences.

Qualifications and Skills

• Proficient in Release Management practices including planning, coordination, and execution of software releases.
• Experienced in Program Management to synchronize release efforts with project timelines and stakeholder needs.
• Knowledgeable in Configuration Management for controlling software versions, environments, and deployment artifacts.
• Strong analytical capabilities for evaluating risks, release implications, and process improvements.
• Familiarity with software development methodologies and the software development lifecycle to collaborate effectively with engineering teams.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools and platforms such as Git, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, and Jira.
• Excellent communication skills for documenting procedures and reporting status updates clearly.
• Capable of working autonomously in a remote work environment, managing multiple releases, and adhering to deadlines.
• Holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or an equivalent professional background.
• Previous experience in software release or project management within technology settings is advantageous.
