Position Overview
The role of Relationship Officer for Micro Mortgages at Ujjivan Small Finance Bank involves spearheading lead generation and managing customer engagement from lead acquisition through loan disbursement, repayment, and retention. This full-time position operates at the branch level under the supervision of the Cluster Manager for Micro Mortgages.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate leads actively by conducting marketing and sales activities within designated markets.
- Manage a portfolio targeting Rs. 5 crore in business, progressively expanding and maintaining customer relationships for the Micro Mortgages product within the branch catchment area.
- Deliver assigned MLAP (Micro Loan Against Property) loan acquisition targets, focusing on new customer outreach and conversion of existing prospects.
- Maintain and update a prospect database, regularly meeting potential clients to develop and sustain relationships.
- Ensure daily/weekly/monthly prospect engagement to fuel lead generation and referral networks.
- Travel extensively throughout the branch catchment area to build business operations.
- Provide courteous, professional customer interactions ensuring confidentiality and adherence to the organization's code of conduct.
- Handle pre and post-loan activities including simple financial analyses, preparing loan applications for sanction committees within set turnaround times, and prioritizing loan repayments to secure portfolio quality.
- Conduct on-site assessments at customers' residences and businesses according to product policy guidelines.
- Collaborate with the credit department through the Cluster Manager to resolve any discrepancies in customer documentation or reporting.
- Stay informed about MLAP products and other branch offerings, reporting market demand and competitor information regularly to management.
- Complete mandatory training and remain informed on relevant local laws and civic regulations impacting operations.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Graduate degree in Commerce or related field.
- Minimum 2 years of combined sales and loan documentation experience, with at least 1 year focused on housing loans, home loans, or loan against property in financial institutions such as NBFCs, Banks, or HFCs.
- Sales and credit experience is acceptable if predominantly sales-related.
- Relevant certifications are considered beneficial.
- Strong knowledge of secured loans and mortgage loans.
- Demonstrated skills in sales and marketing of retail financial products.
- Fluent in the local language with basic English reading and writing proficiency.
- Ability to comprehend legal documentation related to lending.
- Proficient computer skills.
