About the Role

Join Westpac New Zealand's Institutional & Business Banking team as a Relationship Associate based in Tauranga. This full-time, permanent role focuses on delivering high-quality credit analysis, financial insight, and portfolio management support to Relationship Managers. Your analytical skills and commercial mindset will directly influence customer success and portfolio health. You'll develop a comprehensive understanding of customers, industries, and market trends, helping to maintain strong relationships and provide thoughtful credit solutions while protecting Westpac’s reputation through rigorous assessment and timely credit submissions.

Key Responsibilities

• Support Relationship Managers as part of the Corporate Banking Relationship Associates team.
• Provide detailed credit and financial analysis and portfolio management expertise.
• Produce accurate, concise, and well-considered credit submissions.
• Manage portfolio risk dynamically, including monitoring triggers, covenants, and completing periodic risk reviews within policy standards and timeframes.

Candidate Profile

• Possess a tertiary qualification in accounting, finance, or a related discipline.
• Familiarity with New Zealand banking products and market conditions.
• Strong understanding of New Zealand’s commercial environment and economic landscape.
• Demonstrated financial analysis and credit assessment skills.
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance and credit risk management.
• Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective interpersonal and written communication skills.
• High attention to detail and accountability for deliverables.
• Experience with legal and lending documentation is considered an advantage.
