About the Role
We are recruiting on behalf of a partner company seeking a Regulated Messaging Engineer located in Saudi Arabia. This role focuses on engineering and supporting systems responsible for capturing, retaining, and archiving electronic communications within a stringent regulatory environment.
The position involves maintaining and enhancing messaging transport services with an emphasis on reliability, scalability, and adherence to compliance standards. It spans multiple technical domains, including Windows infrastructure, SMTP, Python automation, databases, networking, and enterprise-level archiving technologies. You will engage in complex platform integrations and support major migrations while collaborating closely with engineering, operations, product teams, and senior leadership to address technical challenges and improve operational resilience.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee, troubleshoot, and improve electronic communication transport systems that utilize SMTP protocols.
- Manage and optimize Windows Server and IIS platforms to support regulated messaging workflows effectively.
- Create Python scripts and automation tools to bridge technological gaps and enhance operational efficiency.
- Plan, implement, and manage messaging retention and archiving solutions meeting international compliance and regulatory frameworks.
- Configure and maintain Proofpoint Enterprise Archive including its retention capabilities.
- Establish and uphold governance frameworks related to electronic communications compliance and retention.
- Architect integration solutions between messaging, compliance systems, and collaboration platforms such as Microsoft Teams, Symphony, and Bloomberg.
- Coordinate technical efforts among product engineering, operations, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless delivery and effective incident resolution.
- Plan and enhance infrastructure capacity, availability, scalability, and resilience in line with business needs.
- Lead or contribute to extensive technology migrations, ensuring consistent change management and compliance with security and regulatory policies.
- Act as a point of escalation for complex technical or operational issues driving them to timely resolution.
- Regularly report project progress, highlight technical risks and dependencies, and communicate key milestones to executive leadership.
Skill and Experience Requirements
- Proven expertise in engineering and architecting Windows-based SMTP forwarding services and electronic communication archiving.
- Direct hands-on experience with managing Windows IIS SMTP services including setup, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
- Practical experience in deploying and supporting email retention and electronic communications vaulting platforms.
- Specific experience administering Proofpoint Enterprise Archive; familiarity with other Proofpoint products does not fulfill this requirement.
- Strong proficiency in Python programming for automation and system integration purposes.
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and working with relational databases.
- Strong background in Windows Server administration and enterprise infrastructure management.
- Solid understanding of firewalls, networking fundamentals, SMTP connectivity, and securing communication flows.
- Experience designing or supporting integration architectures across messaging, collaboration, and compliance systems.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
- Capability to manage complex technical projects with a priority on security, compliance, reliability, and operational continuity.
