Registered Psychologist

About the Role

Join a committed allied health team focused on making a positive difference in the lives of children and young people aged 0-16. As a Registered Psychologist at our Ashmore clinic, you will be supported by experienced leaders and a collaborative local team dedicated to delivering personalized, evidence-based therapies.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct new client assessments by preparing using referrals and questionnaires; administering standardized and informal tests such as WPPSI, WISC, WRAT, WRAML, ADOS, and MIGDAS;
• Provide timely feedback and confirm therapy needs for clients and families;
• Complete and deliver detailed reports within two weeks post-assessment;
• Deliver individualized client-centered assessment, counseling, and therapy services across clinic, home, school, and community settings;
• Manage discipline-specific caseloads, including cases with complex needs;
• Develop, implement, review, and adjust therapy programs tailored to individual goals;
• Collaborate with allied health professionals to create specialized programs and maintain confidentiality and adherence to evidence-based practices;
• Create measurable interventions and session plans, offering home and school-based activities and resources;
• Monitor client progress, update therapeutic goals, and perform regular reviews and reports;
• Identify when to refer clients to additional disciplines or group programs;
• Maintain clinical documentation including notes within 24 hours and provide timely reports to stakeholders and funding bodies;
• Record incidents and complaints as necessary;
• Ensure therapy plans conform with funding guidelines such as NDIS;
• Engage in supervision, team meetings, ongoing professional development, and comply with registration standards, organizational policies, workplace health and safety, and child safety regulations.

Candidate Qualifications and Skills

• Relevant Psychology qualification with current registration through AHPRA and the Psychology Board of Australia;
• Demonstrated expertise in solution-focused therapies and early intervention;
• Strong understanding and adaptability to individualized service principles;
• Proven ability to engage effectively with diverse children, families, and stakeholders;
• Excellent communication, organizational, observational, and report-writing skills;
• Capacity to work autonomously in community settings and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams;
• Required clearances including NDIS Worker Screening Check, Working with Children or Vulnerable People Check, National Police Check, current driver's license and vehicle access, and accredited first aid certification.
