Position Summary

Reporting to the Facilities Manager, the Red Seal Millwright is responsible for the inspection, troubleshooting, repair, maintenance, installation, and documentation of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrically driven plant equipment.

Responsibilities

• Receive work orders for scheduled maintenance, inspections, installations, and emergency repairs.
• Diagnose machine issues and determine root causes, then communicate corrective measures to leadership.
• Conduct thorough preventative maintenance, identify defects like misalignment, excessive wear, and lubrication issues, and recommend actions.
• Promptly advise when equipment shutdown is necessary to prevent damage or when continued operation poses no risk.
• Dismantle, clean, repair, replace, install, and lubricate various mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
• Adjust equipment components, including clutch and brake systems, for optimal performance.
• Perform permanent or temporary repairs, including machining and welding as needed.
• Assemble and align gears, bearings, and shafts, applying press, sliding, and running fits; ensure proper shaft-to-shaft coupling alignment.

Requirements

• Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Red Seal certification is mandatory.
• At least 1 year of experience working in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong troubleshooting skills in industrial mechanical systems.

This role is part of an 11-member team reporting directly to the Facilities Manager.
