Job description

Overview

We are looking for a seasoned Red Hat & Linux Infrastructure Specialist with deep practical knowledge in RHEL, Red Hat Satellite, OpenShift, Linux high availability clustering, virtualization, automation, and managing enterprise Linux systems. The chosen candidate will oversee the management, security, performance tuning, and support of critical 24/7 production environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer and improve RHEL versions 7, 8, and 9, covering provisioning, patch management, upgrades, security hardening, and the entire lifecycle of systems.
  • Operate Red Hat Satellite for tasks including patching processes, managing software repositories, deploying software, configuration control, and lifecycle maintenance.
  • Provide support for Red Hat OpenShift, Red Hat Virtualization (RHV), VMware platforms, Linux High Availability (HA), and clustering environments.
  • Conduct complex troubleshooting, fine-tune system performance, plan for capacity needs, and handle vulnerability mitigation.
  • Manage Linux services such as Apache web server, JBoss middleware, Samba file sharing, DNS and DHCP services, and SFTP protocols.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts using Ansible and shell programming.
  • Monitor infrastructure health through tools like Satellite, Dynatrace, SolarWinds, the ELK stack, and Nagios.
  • Support disaster recovery activities using Zerto, including replication, failover handling, and recovery verification.
  • Manage Linux storage systems, filesystems, virtualization technologies, and enterprise-level data center operations.
  • Perform root cause analyses (RCA) for complex technical incidents and ensure continuous support for 24/7 mission-critical operations.
  • Create standard operating procedures (SOPs), operational guidelines, architecture documentation, and technical manuals.
  • Collaborate with Red Hat, VMware, other vendors, and internal teams covering applications, security, and infrastructure.

Required Skills and Experience

  • 8 to 11+ years of professional experience managing enterprise Linux and Red Hat environments.
  • Extensive hands-on skills with RHEL, Red Hat Satellite, OpenShift, Linux HA/clustering technologies, and Red Hat Virtualization.
  • Familiarity with VMware virtualization and managing enterprise virtualized systems.
  • Strong expertise in Ansible automation, shell scripting, Linux security hardening, system patching, and addressing vulnerabilities.
  • Experience using Zerto for disaster recovery planning, Linux storage management, infrastructure monitoring, and running data center operations.
  • Background in supporting 24/7 mission-critical environments, preferably within banking, telecommunications, or regulated sectors.
  • Excellent troubleshooting abilities, communication skills, thorough technical documentation capabilities, and leadership in technical operations.

Preferred Certifications

  • Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE).
  • Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift administration.
  • Red Hat Certified Specialist in Ansible Automation.
  • VMware certification credentials are a plus.
  • Other relevant certifications covering Linux, cloud computing, virtualization, or disaster recovery technologies.
