Position Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Recycling Sorter in Nanaimo to take part in the essential sorting and grading of recycled materials in a safe and productive environment where health and safety are paramount.

Key Benefits

• Starting hourly wage at $19.62, increasing to $20.17 after three months
• Full-time role ensuring consistent scheduled hours from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday

Primary Responsibilities

• Accurately sort, grade, and place recycled materials following company protocols and production standards
• Adhere strictly to all company policies and safety guidelines
• Perform daily housekeeping tasks as assigned by supervisory staff
• Support additional activities such as yard and plant cleanup and sorting office paper, as directed by leads or supervisors
• Demonstrate adaptability to the evolving nature of the recycling industry
• Manage grading and sorting of bulk loose material loads

Candidate Requirements

• Willingness and ability to cross-train and take on additional responsibilities
• Strong hand-eye coordination
• Capability to stand for an entire shift
• Comfort working in typical plant conditions with possible seasonal variations in temperature
