About the Role

Sterling Engineering Ltd is a specialised recruitment firm serving the engineering and technical sectors across Ireland and Europe. We provide staffing solutions for temporary, contract, and permanent positions in fields including Medical Devices, Life Sciences, Manufacturing, Technology, Food & Beverage, and other technical domains. We are seeking a motivated and business-driven Recruitment Consultant to join us in Oranmore, County Galway.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end recruitment process from receiving job briefs to candidate placement and onboarding.
• Build and sustain strong relationships with both clients and candidates.
• Proactively source candidates through multiple channels such as LinkedIn, job boards, referrals, networking, and direct outreach.
• Establish and nurture a wide network of technical candidates.
• Conduct thorough candidate screenings and interviews.
• Oversee interview scheduling, offer negotiations, and final placements.
• Grow existing client accounts and spot opportunities for further business development.
• Generate new business prospects through research, networking, referrals, and cold calling.
• Hold client meetings and conduct detailed job intake discussions.
• Identify potential new accounts and build sustainable client partnerships.
• Participate in client meetings, networking, and industry events as needed.
• Collaborate closely with the Sterling Engineering team to explore market opportunities across Ireland and EMEA regions.
• Maintain CRM records accurately and work towards individual and team goals.

Candidate Requirements

• Prior experience in recruitment, ideally within sectors such as engineering, manufacturing, MedTech, Life Sciences, or technology.
• Experience recruiting candidates within Ireland and/or the broader EMEA region.
• Comfortable managing a full 360 recruitment desk integrating candidate sourcing and business development.
• Enthusiastic about both candidate engagement and developing new business relationships.
• Confident with phone-based communication to develop relationships and generate opportunities.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and closing skills.
• Ability to understand technical job requirements and match candidates appropriately.
• Strong organizational skills with capability to handle multiple clients and vacancies simultaneously.
• Resilience, persistence, and a target-driven approach to work.
• A strong work ethic with consistent follow-up practices.
• Comfortable interacting with all organizational levels, including senior leadership and hiring managers.
• Willingness to travel when required for client engagements and business development.
• Highly motivated with ambition to build a successful career and develop a specialist market within Sterling Engineering.
