Overview
Former Officers of the Defence Forces are invited to consider rejoining as Commissioned Officers. This role values your prior leadership, strategic expertise, and professional standards, offering opportunities to contribute meaningfully to mission-driven operations that safeguard the nation.
Role Expectations
- Your previous officer qualifications, rank, and leadership experience will be formally acknowledged.
- You will have access to a variety of command and staff positions across units and formations consistent with current Defence Forces needs.
Eligibility Criteria
- A minimum remaining service potential of three years up to the standard retirement age for your rank is required.
- Applicants must be at least 5 feet 2 inches (157.48 cm) tall, with height verified during selection.
- No visible tattoos above the collar while on duty are allowed; this will be checked during selection and may disqualify candidates.
- Proof of work permit eligibility is mandatory, demonstrating at least five years' right to reside in Ireland.
- Applicants must satisfy medical, physical, and security clearance checks conducted during recruitment.
