Overview
Circle Health Group's Alexandra Hospital in Cheadle is seeking a Radiographer to be part of their Imaging department team. This permanent, full-time position entails 37.5 working hours per week with a flexible shift pattern. Salary can be up to £44,100 annually, varying with experience, qualifications, and training level.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct a broad spectrum of diagnostic imaging procedures, including general X-rays, theatre imaging, fluoroscopy, and mobile scans, adhering strictly to referral and imaging protocols.
- Produce high-quality diagnostic images to facilitate precise interpretation while minimizing repeat exposures.
- Modify imaging techniques to suit the needs of diverse patient groups such as children, bariatric patients, and those with reduced mobility.
- Deliver patient-focused care ensuring dignity, comfort, and clear communication throughout examinations.
- Observe patient conditions during procedures and respond promptly to any adverse changes.
- Ensure radiographic equipment is properly checked, maintained, safely operated, and faults are reported without delay.
- Support the integration and application of emerging imaging technologies and digital systems like PACS and RIS.
- Collaborate effectively with radiologists, consultants, nursing staff, porters, and administrative teams to ensure seamless patient workflows.
Candidate Requirements
- Possess a BSc (Hons) in Diagnostic Radiography or an equivalent certification.
- Hold current HCPC registration as a Diagnostic Radiographer.
- Have at least six months of practical UK hospital experience (NHS or private) in general radiography.
- Understand relevant legislation such as IR(ME)R, and be knowledgeable about health & safety, infection control, and confidentiality standards.
- Exhibit strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient-centered care.
- Work efficiently both independently and collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.
- Additional postgraduate qualifications or specialized training in areas like CT, MRI, theatre imaging, or mammography are advantageous.
