Job description

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced and proactive Quarry Manager to lead daily quarry operations focused on safe, efficient production while maintaining high-quality standards. The role involves comprehensive management of production output, personnel, equipment, and costs, ensuring seamless coordination with Sales, Commercial, and Mining Engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise day-to-day quarry activities to meet production goals safely and on time.
  • Harmonize production volumes with sales demands and customer needs.
  • Modify production plans and procedures in response to material requirements and operational priorities.
  • Work closely with Sales and Commercial departments to align production with business objectives.
  • Establish, track, and attain critical production and performance metrics.
  • Compile and deliver frequent reports detailing production data, operational analytics, and performance feedback to management.
  • Oversee quarry budgets, manage operational costs, and optimize resource utilization.
  • Maintain precise operational documentation and administrative records.
  • Enforce health, safety, and environmental guidelines consistently at the quarry site.
  • Conduct regular site inspections, risk assessments, and safety audits to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Oversee activities related to extraction, crushing, screening, and processing to maintain operational efficiency and quality.
  • Inspect produced materials to verify adherence to quality standards.
  • Identify and address technical, operational, or workforce challenges collaboratively with site staff.
  • Manage inventory and timely procurement of equipment, machinery parts, and production materials.
  • Ensure maintenance and operational readiness of all quarry vehicles and machinery.
  • Lead and motivate quarry personnel, ensuring effective workforce scheduling and performance management.
  • Collaborate with Mining Engineers and technical teams to enhance resource extraction and production efficiency.
  • Guarantee compliance of all quarry activities with relevant legal, environmental, health, and safety requirements.
  • Seek continuous improvements to increase productivity, lower operational expenses, and optimize resource use.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Extensive experience in quarry operations, mining, or production management roles.
  • A bachelor's degree or diploma in Mining Engineering, Geology, Civil Engineering, or related discipline is preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of quarrying processes including extraction, crushing, screening, and processing.
  • Familiarity with health, safety, and environmental standards governing industrial or quarry sites.
  • Strong leadership capabilities with experience managing teams.
  • Excellent skills in planning, organizing, and communication.
  • Competence in analyzing production data, monitoring KPIs, and controlling budgets.
  • Technical expertise in quarry machinery, equipment operation, and materials management.
  • Ability to solve complex problems and make sound decisions.
  • Proven teamwork skills working collaboratively with Sales, Commercial, Engineering, and site-based teams.
