Role Overview
We are seeking a Quantum Algorithm Scientist proficient in mapping classical challenges to quantum algorithms. This role involves developing tailored quantum algorithms, performing resource estimation, and benchmarking near-term quantum hardware.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and correlate classical problem statements with suitable quantum algorithms.
- Conduct logical resource estimation to guide hardware requirements.
- Formulate perspectives on prerequisites for achieving quantum computational advantage.
- Adapt quantum algorithms for compatibility with near-term quantum devices.
- Design and implement experiments for benchmarking and error analysis of current quantum hardware.
Candidate Requirements
The ideal candidate should demonstrate:
- Experience in developing and modifying quantum algorithms.
- Ability to connect classical problems with established quantum algorithms.
- Familiarity with benchmarking protocols for quantum systems.
- Proficiency in simulation and modeling techniques to support experimental design.
- PhD or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
- At least five years of experience (including academic studies) in quantum algorithm research and development.
- Strong communication skills with a record of published research.
- Organizational aptitude and experience collaborating with customers and partners.
Preferred Qualifications
- Understanding of quantum error correction methods.
- Knowledge of quantum software tools such as Qiskit and Stim.
- Competence in Python programming.
