Their client base ranges from educational institutions and local sports clubs to full-sized grounds for rugby, GAA, tennis, hockey, soccer, and five-a-side football. They also excel in refurbishing synthetic pitches to new-build standards and advocate superior maintenance practices across high-performance sports centers.
Role Overview
The Quantity Surveyor role is based onsite in Tipperary and entails full-time commitment supporting financial control for synthetic pitch, fencing, and floodlighting installations. Key daily tasks include the preparation and management of Bills of Quantities (BOQ), supervising project expenditures, and aiding in tender submissions, quotes, and contract documentation. The role involves comprehensive cost planning stages from pre-contract to final account settlements, managing contract variations, and generating precise cost reports for internal decision-making and clients.
The position requires close cooperation with project managers, field teams, and suppliers to optimize cost efficiency, ensure budgets are maintained, and support timely commercial resolutions. Additional duties include record keeping, supporting procurement procedures, and enhancing cost management systems continually.
Key Qualifications and Skills
- Expertise in cost control and cost management practices.
- Experience managing and preparing BOQ and thorough cost planning activities.
- Ability to create detailed cost reports including financial updates, forecasts, and final accounts.
- Strong numerical aptitude and analytical skills coupled with advanced proficiency in Excel and precision in work.
- Educational background in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or related fields.
- Prior involvement in civil engineering, construction of sports facilities, or general construction advantageous.
- Capability to engage effectively within onsite project teams, handle multiple deadlines, and maintain clear communication with clients and suppliers.
- Understanding of construction contract processes, tenders, and a commitment to uphold safety, quality, and integrity standards.
