Job description

Role Overview

We are on the lookout for a capable Quantity Surveyor or Contracts Administrator to provide direct commercial assistance to our Commercial Manager on a short-term basis within Christchurch’s commercial and industrial construction sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the tendering and procurement processes by requesting, assessing, and comparing subcontractor quotations, and preparing basic subcontract agreements.
  • Contribute to cost and variation management by evaluating subcontractor variations and supporting monthly payment claim preparations.
  • Support financial tracking efforts including project cost monitoring, monthly drawdowns, and job closure activities.
  • Provide day-to-day commercial contract and financial administrative support to the Commercial Manager and Project Managers.

Candidate Profile

  • Practical experience in Quantity Surveying or Contracts Administration within commercial or industrial construction projects.
  • Familiar with commercial construction workflows, trade package handling, and subcontractor agreement management.
  • Comfortable with technology; experience with systems like Procore or CostX advantageous though general software proficiency is key.
  • Strong verbal and written communication paired with a problem-solving approach.
  • Ready for immediate commencement.
