Job description
Role Overview
A significant opportunity is available for a Quantity Surveyor to contribute to a leading Irish main contractor's residential mixed-use project located in Athlone. This position involves detailed involvement in commercial and contractual management throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and manage subcontractor procurement along with commercial administration tasks.
- Compile valuations, handle contract variations, produce cost reports, and forecast financial outcomes.
- Track project spending effectively in relation to the budget limits.
- Evaluate subcontractor claims and aid the finalization of accounts.
- Keep precise records of commercial and contract-related activities.
- Collaborate closely with the Senior Quantity Surveyor, Project Manager, and other site team members.
- Identify potential cost risks and help implement value-engineering strategies.
Candidate Requirements
- Between three to over five years of experience in quantity surveying roles.
- Practical experience within Irish construction projects is essential.
- Preferred experience includes residential or mixed-use developments.
- Solid understanding of subcontractor procurement, measurement, and cost management processes.
- A degree in Quantity Surveying or a closely related field.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and commercial acumen.
Compensation and Opportunity
The remuneration package is competitive, ranging from €65,000 to €75,000 annually depending on the candidate's experience. Joining this contractor offers a stable career path supported by a robust work pipeline.
