About the Role

We are currently looking for a junior Quantity Surveyor to join our team in the Manawatu region. This role involves reporting directly to a Project Manager and managing the financial aspects of construction projects. Your duties will encompass setting and monitoring budgets, evaluating costs to completion, reviewing programming schedules, handling progress claims and variations, and managing financial reporting and control systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee financial management of projects under guidance of Project Managers.
• Establish and track project budgets effectively.
• Review and assess cost to complete and project programming.
• Manage progress claims and variations efficiently.
• Maintain accurate financial reports and systems.

Candidate Requirements

• At least two years’ experience working on medium to large-scale commercial construction projects.
• A Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying or a relevant qualification.
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills, comfortable engaging with clients, consultants, and senior management.
• Solid understanding of New Zealand contract law.
• High financial literacy; familiarity with Jobpac or comparable financial control software is highly advantageous.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and general computer skills.
• A full New Zealand driver's license is mandatory due to travel requirements across multiple sites.
