About the Opportunity
We are partnering with a prominent international company expanding its construction portfolio across Ireland, the UK, and the USA. The company seeks to recruit a Quantity Surveyor based in Dublin to support its growing projects in the United States.
This role offers an excellent chance for a Quantity Surveyor eager to gain substantial international project exposure, including regular quarterly travel to the US for approximately one week. There is also the potential for an eventual relocation to the United States for successful candidates.
Based in Dublin, the selected professional will collaborate closely with US project teams, contractors, and stakeholders, fostering valuable experience and relationships across regions.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and track project costs from pre-construction stages through to completion.
- Develop, analyze, and review budgets, cost plans, and financial forecasts.
- Manage procurement processes and tender submissions.
- Evaluate and negotiate subcontractor and supplier agreements.
- Administer variations, valuations, and payment claims.
- Provide detailed cost reporting and commercial forecasting.
- Assist with contract administration and oversee commercial aspects.
- Monitor project progress to ensure alignment with budget and schedules.
- Collaborate with project and construction teams to identify and mitigate commercial risks.
- Support project delivery across the US portfolio, including sites in New York, Colorado, and Ohio.
- Travel to the United States about once every quarter to engage directly with project teams and gain in-person experience.
- Establish and maintain strong professional relationships with contractors, consultants, and other stakeholders.
Candidate Requirements
- Possess a degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a related field.
- Have 3 to 5 years of professional experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry.
- Demonstrate robust commercial acumen and analytical capabilities.
- Experience with procurement, cost management, valuations, contract variations, and final account procedures.
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts and commercial operations.
- Excellent communication skills along with effective stakeholder management.
- Ability to work autonomously while coordinating within multidisciplinary teams.
- Willingness and ability to travel internationally for the role.
- Interest in possible future relocation to the US.
