Quantity Surveyor

Overview

We are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic construction team working on a significant pharmaceutical project based in Kilkenny. This full-time role offers the chance to engage in a lead position managing commercial project aspects within the pharmaceutical sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the commercial elements related to assigned project segments.
• Compile detailed take-offs, bills of quantities, and cost plans to ensure accuracy in project financial management.
• Track project expenditures, labor usage, and overall commercial performance metrics.
• Prepare and process monthly valuations, payment certificates, and develop cash flow forecasts.
• Manage subcontractor packages from the procurement stage through to the final account settlement.
• Evaluate variations, claims, and identify potential contractual risks or exposures.
• Monitor project progress while highlighting any commercial risks involved.
• Collaborate effectively with project and engineering teams to guarantee project delivery success.
• Ensure precise and comprehensive commercial documents and reports are maintained.

Qualifications and Experience

• At least 5 years of dedicated experience in quantity surveying.
• Strong skills in commercial and cost management practices.
• Proven experience handling subcontractor packages and final account management.
• In-depth knowledge of valuations, payment applications, and cost reporting.
• Proficient in producing detailed take-offs, cost plans, and financial forecasts.
• Thorough understanding of construction contracts and related commercial procedures.
• Excellent communication, organizational and time management capabilities.
• Experience in pharmaceutical, MEP, or industrial projects is considered a valuable advantage.
