About the Role

Join the Lune Gorge project team as a Quantity Surveyor and contribute to one of the UK’s significant infrastructure projects. This role offers an excellent chance to enhance your career in civil engineering by supporting the commercial success of a high-profile scheme while collaborating with seasoned professionals in the industry.

Location: Around the UK with the primary worksite at Tebay, Cumbria, plus options for some remote working.

Working Hours: Full-time permanent position with 45 hours weekly; flexible working options are available upon discussion.

Compensation: Salary range of £40,000 to £45,000 per annum, supplemented by a £5,000 annual car allowance and additional benefits.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in managing contracts and work packages commercially to meet project aims and optimise profit margins.
• Prepare and submit valuations, payment claims, compensation event requests, and commercial reports in alignment with contract terms.
• Track project expenses, forecast financial outcomes, and deliver commercial insights to guide project-related decisions.
• Spot commercial risks and prospects, contributing to risk mitigation and enhanced project results.
• Oversee measurements, valuations, and cash flow operations to ensure robust commercial control during the project lifespan.

Candidate Profile

• Possess a degree, HNC/HND, or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related construction field.
• Hold a valid UK driving license and exhibit comfort working in a construction site environment.
• Have prior experience in commercial, quantity surveying, or cost management roles within construction, civil engineering, infrastructure, or transport-related projects.
• Be proficient with Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel, for analyzing and handling commercial data.
• Demonstrate strong communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with diverse stakeholders.
